M arch is here and so is a brand new love story. Apologies for the month long absence -- I hope you will accept this beautiful story as my goodwill gesture! This gorgeous story comes all the way from Maine, New England and features images from the brilliant Cuppa Photography, to whom I introduced you to not too long ago.
Our couple includes the stunning Hanh, a construction underwriter, and the dashing Nived a project manager. Their wedding ceremony and dinner reception was hosted at Granite Ridge Estate in Norway, Maine on the 26th of September 2015. Prior to their informal but intimate ceremony at the Estate, the couple hosted both Buddhist and Hindu ceremonies at their parent’s homes. What a spectacular way to begin their wedding festivities!
As you may have caught on, I am a sucker for good love story, and this one is as sweet as they get. Hanh and Nived are high school sweethearts and their story is the epitome of young love:
“We met and started dating in High School. A friend passed on the word to Nived that I was interested in him. We started talking since we were 14 years old and the rest is history!”
After 15 years together, a proposal was on the horizon (literally!) and this is how our groom popped the question:
“Nived proposed on our 15 years anniversary trip to Italy. It was on our actual anniversary date of May 6th that Nived had proposed. Prior to dinner, we went to a secluded area by the rolling hills in Siena, Italy. We just bought a new camera so we went to the rolling hills to take pictures as the sun was setting. The camera was on automatic setting to take pictures of us when Nived kneeled down on his knees and proposed.”
I absolutely love Hanh’s beautiful wedding dress – a fitted mermaid dress, with a truly spectacular plunging back:
“My dress was made by Oscar De La Renta. I bought at LeLite in Boston, MA. I was looking for a simple dress with some kind of dramatic back and a mermaid bottom. The backless drop was my favorite aspect of the dress. The fabric is extremely light and hugged the body perfectly.”
Our groom, not to be outdone, looked sharp in his Hugo Boss suit. Surrounded by family and loved ones, the groom got ready to see his soon to be wife for their first look!
These stunning images are courtesy the talented Cuppa Photography.
“Cuppa Photography was a referral from our food vendor, Blue Elephant. I browsed through various photographers websites and liked Cuppa’s rustic and intimate style. Also, we loved the fact that she gives a certain portion of our booking fees as proceeds to cancer research.”
Though the ceremony was informal, the couple made sure to make it feel personal and heartwarming:
“We selected two guests to read 2 love poems and we each wrote our own vows. Our ceremony was in the woods at the Granite Ridge Estate property.”
How stunning is that backdrop? And those bridesmaids dresses? What about that look Nived gives his bride-to-be? I can’t get enough of this series of images!
Friends and family were invited to join the newlywed to their stunning rustic barn reception. I think the following pictures don’t do the space any justice — it’s just absolutely breathtaking!
The couple had some DIY features on show at the reception:
“My bridesmaids helped with our DIY Projects! We DIY’d the candy bar, centrepieces, pictures, and seating cards. We have to admit that the hardest project was selecting candies for the bar!”
The couple danced to “Too Good To Be True” by Lauryn Hill for their first dance.
“We were most excited about the food vendor, Blue Elephant Catering! We both love food. It was an important part of our day.”
“We hired a cover band called Conscious Reggage Band out of Boston. We like reggae theme music. We are familiar with this band as we have seen them play at various bars and restaurants in Boston.”
Our beautiful bride also had a quick outfit change – she rocks a new look in this beautiful red dress.
To get the party going, the couple hired an amazing and band from Boston:
“We hired a cover band called Conscious Reggage Band out of Boston. We like reggae theme music. We are familiar with this band as we have seen them play at various bars and restaurants in Boston. They really got the party going!”
The couple had an incredible wedding, all thanks to their talented vendors and suppliers:
“All the vendors went above and beyond, especially Blue Elephant, our food vendor who also acted as our day coordinator, everyone at Granite Ridge, our band who drove 3 hours from Boston, and of course, Cuppa Photography. The day wouldn’t have been the same without these talented teams!”
When asked for what their favorite part of the wedding weekend was, the couple responded:
“The entire wedding weekend was awesome and will be forever cherished. We loved seeing everything come together –from our outfits to the DYI projects. Shout Out to all the friends and families who made our wedding weekend so unforgettable. “
Advice From The Bride:
“Don’t worry so much about the detail, especially the save the date and wedding invitations. No one really remember it but you. Create a spreadsheet to keep organize and then just delegate responsibilities from there – once delegated do not look back and try to micromanage.”
Advice from the Groom:
“Make sure your bride isn’t stress out and is happy throughout the weekend. “
Thank you Granite Ridge, Cuppa Photography & to our lovely newlyweds Hanh & Nived for allowing us to share their big day. Congratulations!
